‘Patina’ is a rich, dark slate green. From certain angles it has the look of tarnished pewter and almost appears to glow. To achieve this complex shade, we marled a warm khaki green together with a cool forest green. A unique colour with incredible stitch definition.

Merino Pro is suitable for hand-knitters who are experienced in working with coned yarns. Each cone contains 1kg of pre-washed yarn.

  • single-stranded:
    600m/ 100g (lace weight)

    held double:
    300m/ 100g (sportweight)

    held triple:
    200m/ 100g (DK weight)

  • 100% non superwash merino
    made in Italy

  • finished knits should be hand-washed in lukewarm water; squeezed to remove excess moisture; and let dry flat

When held single-stranded, Merino Pro is a laceweight yarn with a meterage of 600m per 100g. In this form it is suitable for shawls only.
To create heavier yarns, you will first need to follow these steps:

To Create Sportweight Yarn:
Either by hand or using a yarn winder, wind a single strand of Merino Pro into a ball/ cake weighing approximately 50g.
Break yarn. Wind another ball/ cake in the same manner, weighing approximately 50g.
Then wind these two balls / cakes together.
The result will be a 100g ball/ cake of Sportweight yarn, with a meterage of 300m per 100g.
Repeat as needed, to wind a sufficient quantity for your project.
Each cone contains enough yarn for ten 100g balls, cakes wound in this manner.

To Create DK Weight Yarn:
Either by hand or using a yarn winder, wind a single strand of Merino Pro into a ball/ cake weighing approximately 34g.
Break yarn. Wind two more balls/ cakes in the same manner, each weighing approximately 34g.
Then wind these 3 balls / cakes together.
The result will be a 100g ball/ cake of DK weight yarn, with a meterage of 200m per 100g.
Repeat as needed, to wind a sufficient quantity for your project.
Each cone contains enough yarn for ten 100g balls, cakes wound in this manner.

To Create Aran Weight Yarn:
Either by hand or using a yarn winder, wind a single strand of Merino Pro into a ball/ cake weighing approximately 25g.
Break yarn. Wind three more balls/ cakes in the same manner, each weighing approximately 25g.
Then wind these 4 balls / cakes together.
The result will be a 100g ball/ cake of heavy Aran, with a meterage of 150m per 100g.
Repeat as needed, to wind a sufficient quantity for your project.
Each cone contains enough yarn for ten 100g balls, cakes wound in this manner.
